We made it to the very last day of school! 4th grade is over and I am very excited for my new “5th” graders!!!! Congratulations all of you! You worked very hard and it has shown. I have truly enjoyed having each and every one of you in my class this year. I wish all of you the best of luck next year! I know you will do a fantastic job!
 
If you signed up for summer school, you will be receiving information about your schedule and teacher today.

Thank you to all of the parents who donated supplies for our classroom! We could not have done it with out you this year!

This week we have learned about:

  • In writing, we  created power points of advice for next year students. We also studied cyber bullying and created presentations about it.
  • In reading, we worked on Daily 5 activities and communication arts websites.   Make sure you continue to read over the summer to keep up on your reading level. Talk to your family about what you are reading. and practice all the reading skills we have learned this year.
  • In Science, we worked on our Missouri Activity packets. Our Missouri binders are coming home today. They include everything we have learned about this year involving Missouri!
  • In Math, we reviewed a few key math concepts to prepare for 5th grade we also enjoyed learning how to play Yahtzee!!!
  • In Spelling, we reviewed spelling words and working on spelling websites.

I will miss all of you! Have a safe and wonderful summer!

May 23-27

4.5  days until the last day of school!  We had an amazing time in Jefferson City. The students were very well-behaved and represented our school and 4th grade in a fantastic way. We had many laughs and a lot of fun. Thank you to all of the parents who were chaperones on the trip. We could not have done it with out you! As we enter the very last week of 4th grade. Please keep the following dates in mind: 

Thursday, May 26-The very last Tiger Pride Assembly

Friday, May 27- Last day of school. Students are dismissed at 12:30

Our class is in need of a few items. If you are willing to donate anything, please send them in with your student. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Clorox wipes
  • Disinfectant spray
  • Large boxes for packing end of the year supplies

  • In writing, we  wrote about our future 20 year reunion. We had a lot of laughs as we read what we would be doing  down the road…..and what we thought our fellow classmates would be doing!

  • In Science, we are still learning about force and motion.
  • In Math, we are reviewing a few key math concepts to prepare for 5th grade
  • In Spelling, we have been reviewing words and working on spelling websites.

May 9-13

10 days until the last day of school!  We had a great week (we especially enjoyed the skating party)  and we are really looking forward to next week. We have many events going on, so please mark your calendars for the following days: 
 
May 17-Field Day (4th grade 12:00-2:00, lunch will be at 11:00) Principal Miller will be driving a school bus along an obstacle course during lunch.  If you would like to volunteer to run Field Day activities please contact Coach Wise.

May 18-Transition Day. We will ride school buses to the Intermediate school and meet up with all the other 4th grades in the district. We will tour the school and students will have the opportunity to ask questions about next year.

May 19-Jefferson City field trip. Students must be at school at 7:00 A.M.   Permission slips for the field trip have been sent home. Please sign these and return it with 5 dollars to cover the cost of the busses. (10 dollars for parent chaperones riding the bus). Students will not be allowed on the bus if they do not have a permission slip signed. Detailed information about the field  trip was sent home Thursday.  We are in need of prepackaged, individually wrapped snacks and water bottles for the trip. If you would like to donate any, please send them in with your student.

May 20- Last day to turn in any missing assignments/absent work

Friday, May 27- Last day- students leave at 12:30

  • In writing, we  finished our persuasive letters to Principal Miller and we shared them with her via Google Docs.  We are still working on filming persuasive commercials. We also took our final Language test! 
  • In reading, we are working on Daily 5 activities and communication arts websites.   There will not be any more reading logs this year but please continue to read at home to keep up your level!
  • In Science, we are learning about force and motion.
  • In Math, we are finished our unit on fractions and took our very last math test!
  • In Spelling, we have been reviewing words and working on spelling websites.

Jefferson City

We leave for Jeff City in one week! We are in need of  individually wrapped, prepackaged snacks  and water bottles for our trip. cheese crackers, crackers and peanut butter and fruit snacks are just a few examples.  If you would like to help out, please let us know or just send in the snacks or water bottles with your student. Any donations are greatly appreciated!
